As Christmas is nearing to celebrate the passage of Christ on Planet Earth, we could imagine the following conversation :
Christ : So, Let me see what you have been doing with what I taught you ?
Us : What ? you’re kidding !!! Was any of that REAL ? It was …an urban legend
Christ : Just a minute ! I came all the way down from Heaven to show you how to use the technology you have in your brain, heart and body, in your energy field. What have you done with it ?
Us : Well, we’ve created the internet, AI …
Christ : AI, oh yeah …. this guy Geoffrey Hinton …. Hmmm… …
Us : He said the way to understand us is to build …things like us …
Christ : Did I hear you say THINGS like YOU ?
Us : Ooooh !!!! (looking down)
Christ : Son of God … son of Man … See where I am going ? Makes sense ?
Us : God ???? Err ….God is dead here ….
Christ : Hold on, men & women of little faith, you haven’t used your inner technology on yourself ?
Us : Well, some people have found a back-up they say you left and they’re saying they can create the future with quantum energy and that sort of bulls…t.
Christ : So, haven’t you been able to heal yourselves yet ?
Us : Well we have our drugs and our machines
Christ : So, Haven’t you been able to do miracles yet ?
Us : Not yet but we’ll get there…
Christ : The next generation, your children perhaps ?
Us : Oh nooo, they’re too busy with Tic Toc, Instagram, mobiles and stuff. AI.
Christ : I heard on the grapevine in Heaven the second cause of death is suicide amongst the 15-19 yr old in Europe. Also that 1 in 5 kids is affected by a mental health problem in the UK. There is an increase of 29% anxiety, 27% depression amongst the 3-17 yrs in the US and 1 in 2 (15-24 yrs old) have unmet mental needs in Europe. So, what are you guys doing about it ?
Us : Hm….Well, the Flynn effect (you know, where every generation is smarter than the previous one) is reversing anyway…
Christ : Then what would you say about what you believe is intelligence ????
Us : Errr….
Christ : ….Sigh … Well anyway, at least Daddy Yankee has given up on reggaeton and is now going to work for me ! ……Whoooosh !!!….. Christ flies away while angel voices ring ….

The concerns I read on Linkedin about AI remind me of Andersen’s tale “The emperor’s new clothes”. It fascinated me when I was a child and kept me wondering how adults could be such fools.
If you remember, it is the story of an Emperor who has such a passion to be seen in extraordinary new clothes that he buys into the tale of two tailors. They will make him the most fabulous clothes, unseen of yet. And indeed for months, they cut, stitch and sew under the eyes of a child peeping through the window. His eyes open wider and wider but see nothing 😳 …..as it is all made of thin air.
The day comes when the Emperor parades in town with his new invisible clothes and the crowd literally falls under the spell. This …until the child innocently points out that the Emperor is naked!
The veil drops and everybody suddenly sees ….Reality ! Aaaaarrgh !
The tale has been read as the vanity of humans. As I grew older and stepped into the world of how our psyche functions, it became clearer that it was all about how humans can be trapped and trap each other into beliefs. The emperor gets caught by the enticing promise of the tailors. The village gets caught in a collective fantasy. No one dares to speak up what they are witnessing, thinking they might be the only one missing out on something out of the common or… maybe in submission to the politically correct… or maybe really seeing with their Emperor’s eyes.
Sewing out of thin air seems metaphorical for our current times. Let me explain. The virtual and AI are taking us into new spheres and out of our grounded state, simply out of our contact with the Earth. We are now entering the virtual realm.
Of course, we can undeniably apprehend the benefits AI will bring us – in medicine, solar cells, climate change….. However we have reached a critical point where the decline is also predictable. Humans have invested huge amounts in creating technology outside but haven’t yet explored and reinforced what we are endowed with naturally.
Instead of empowering ourselves, we are literally giving away our power to AI, to some…thing which is external to us and which will decide for us. The results can already be seen by the lack of stability of our youth, by the frailty of our psyche, by the lack of connection between mind, heart and body, by the lack of coherence between the systems we belong to. Our kids don’t need to write or count anymore, don’t need to interact with reality… come on ….Siri, WhatsApp and Tic Toc will do it for them.
We could make excellent use of the time which will be bestowed upon us while machines and robots do the menial tasks. Hinton (the Godfather of AI) foresees more jobs will be created at the creative end ! However, our kids are not being trained at school or in the family (lack of parents’ care) to think by themselves, to create, to use their hands and invent their toys and games. How do they spend their time ? American teenagers have 9 hours 19 minutes screen time daily when of lower income and 7 hours 16 minutes daily when of higher income.
To avoid losing everything to AI and feeling as disempowered and plain naked as the Emperor in his new clothes, Mr Hinton – who is not holding himself accountable in any way and did not sign the letter some of the top names in the tech industry, including Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak and computer scientist Yoshua Bengio signed in March asking for a ban on the development of advanced A.I. systems – is now crying out for governments to protect us from what he, himself has leashed out and calls a real existential threat like a global nuclear war as “we are not living in a decent society”, so he says. He claims governments and companies are spending 99% of their budget on AI developments and 1% only on the potential threats when it should be a 50-50 !
Hinton who speaks with analogies is suggesting we can only now perceive some yards into the fog before we hit the wall of fog, which will take ………. just 5 years! 5 more Christmases folks ! He also adds :”We’ve got immortality but it’s not for us !” Doesn’t that sound like the eternal desire of playing God, of creating a being which turns out to be Frankenstein ? For him, life is just a sequence of reactions and substances of molecular biology and so must it be of consciousness.
🎁My gift No. 1 for Christmas is to empower ourselves and learn who we really are, celebrating the message of Christ. We cannot now but develop ourselves and explore how the belief the Divine, Universal energy or how you name it – which is within us as well – can lead us to co-create with the Universe.
🎁My gift No. 2 for Christmas is to invite all of us not to wait for governments to try to take control of the genius or wild beast Mr Hinton has let out of the bottle. Our human engineering of 6.000.000 years of creating healthy human beings by holding them in our body for 9 months, by breastfeeding, by holding them close to our bodies, by looking into their eyes to make them focus and keep their attention, of learning by observing 👀, imitating and using our hands 🙌🏾, of singing our multiplication tables 🎶 is a proven one. Our human technology of healing with love, of connecting with each other by being on the same wavelength (did we know we were referring to telepathy !), and with techniques we naturally use of connection between our two hemispheres such as intuition when we unknowingly turn to someone who is staring at us or when we feel someone is following us is a proven one.
🎁My gift No. 3 for Christmas is to pursue and refine our heart engineering for creating support in circles, families, communities which is a proven one. Did you know that an intricate choreography of neural activity in areas of the brain governing social interactions is set in action in face to face conversation as opposed to zoom meetings.* We are even so interconnected that it has been observed that the same discoveries are made at around the same time at antipodes on earth*. Schools, hospitals and companies would be wise to pursue emotional intelligence development to potentiate and improve the mechanisms in place.
🎁My gift no. 4 for Christmas is also to invest in sensory awareness which is one of our learning and healing tools and provides real time feedback from the environment to increase our ability to adapt and innovate. Our body has accompanied us in our evolution and let’s keep it that way. Life engineering has taken millions of years to come to the present point : a bird just drops a seed in the ground, rain showers, sun shines bright and you’ve got a beautiful tree growing. Humans have evolved by this interaction with our environment. Let’s keep it that way and let’s teach our children how to be part of this system.
🎁My gift No. 5 for Christmas is to invest in all the mechanisms we are naturally fitted with – the electric circuit – the magnetic field – the chi flow along the meridians – and much more ….
🎁My gift No. 6 for Christmas is to dramatically intensify our differences from AI, to research into all the uncommon occurrences of the extraordinary – whether it be intelligence or healing or creativity – so as to be able to copy them.
🎁My gift No. 7 for Christmas is to work at the unconscious level for human deep learning and to make it part of academic programs and of company training courses. Imagine if we all learnt Silva Method for example !
🎁My gift No. 8 for Christmas is to speak up and spread the information and knowledge about how to access those “hidden or unknown” parts of ourselves and not be afraid of the ridicule or of finger pointing – so much more if you are a doctor, teacher, CEO, company owner, team leader, influencer or holding a position of influence in your community, celebrity, elderly.
🎁My gift No. 9 for Christmas is for each one of us to explore how we are responsible for our own lives, accountable for our actions and how we can manifest the better version of ourselves and better dreams for Humankind connected with Earth, living species and the systems we are part of.
🎁My gift No. 10 for Christmas is for companies and communities to invest in human capital, to create strong teams, to develop transversal collaboration and alliances even across companies.
🎁My gift No. 11 for Christmas is to laugh, have fun, play and let our children do so. Devise ways for them to do so as much as possible.
